2019 APICS Calgary Annual General Meeting
APICS Calgary is honoured to have Kris Ruiter and Jenny Yu from the Government of Canada, Public Services and Procurement Canada. Kris & Jenny will speak about how the procurement processes work in the government. This will be a very enriching PDM and understanding different practices & processes in supply chain management.
Here are bio's on our two guest speakers:
Kris Ruiter is the A/Chief, Stakeholder Engagement, Office of Small & Medium Enterprises (OSME) of Public Services and Procurement Canada in Western Region. The office’s role is to help companies learn what products & services the Government of Canada buys and how the procurement processes work. Kris is located in Calgary, Alberta and is responsible for the Prairies, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut.
Kris brings a variety of both public and private sector experience to the role with OSME. Kris graduated from Bishop’s University with a business degree. In his career he has been a golf pro, retail manager, branch manager of a bank, and held multiple positions within procurement with Public Services and Procurement Canada over the last eight years. The variety of experience allows Kris to speak with businesses on multiple levels and help them navigate the federal procurement landscape.
Jenny Yu joined Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) in 2009 and is a dynamic and passionate public servant with extensive experience in government procurement and contracting. With her background in communications and event management, she is also a seasoned public speaker, and a strategist in corporate, non-profit, and government relations.
Driven and skillful in combining creativity and business skills in achieving initiatives, Jenny continues to build a portfolio of service excellence via procurement to departments such as the Department of National Defence, Defence Research Development Canada, Parks Canada, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, etc. Her strength in building effective relationships also continue to render meaningful collaborations with partners like the National Hockey League, the United Way, and World Vision Canada.
